Hi, I am a Somatic Experiencing practitioner and experiential therapist. I work with clients who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, perfectionism, and persistent self-doubt—often sensing there’s more ease and confidence possible, but not quite knowing how to get there.
My name is Dr. Jessica Sanchez and I am a Spanish-speaking Licensed Professional Counselor and Chemical Dependency Counselor. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science from Lamar University in 2004 and became a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in 2008. In 2024, I graduated with a Doctorate of Psychology from the Walden University.
You're reading a text and already composing your response, then deleting it, then rewriting it. By the time you send something, you've decided they're annoyed with you. The conversation hasn't even happened yet, and you've already lived through three versions of how it goes wrong. That loop, the replaying, the rehearsing, the bracing, is exhausting in a way that's hard to explain to people who don't experience it. I work with people who are ready to step out of that loop and actually trust themselves in the moments that matter.
I’m glad you’re here. I have extensive experience supporting survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, human trafficking, and other forms of complex trauma. I’m certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which are evidence-based approaches designed to treat trauma, PTSD, and related symptoms. Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, emotional overwhelm, dissociation, grief, and burnout related to past or ongoing experiences.
As a foster and adoptive parent, I also support foster and adoptive families through a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) lens. I understand how trauma can impact attachment, behavior, and relationships for both children and caregivers. In addition, I work with individuals experiencing prenatal and postpartum mental health concerns, including postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, identity shifts, and the emotional challenges that can come with parenthood.
I also support clients struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, and emotional relationships with food. Whether you are dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, eating concerns, or life transitions, my goal is to create a safe, affirming, and compassionate space where you can process difficult experiences and begin meaningful healing.
