I have a masters degree in art therapy counseling from Southern Illinois University. I have eight years of experience providing therapy to clients. In my practice I utilize evidence-based therapies such as CBT and ACT. I also interweave narrative therapy into the mix when applicable. I am attentive, a good listener, and believe therapy is a collaborative process. I want to understand who you are and how you percieve your world. Working together we can help you navigate the issues you are dealing with so you can live your best life.
My name is Kathleen Monroe, and I possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. I am licensed in Clinical Social Work, and I hold a Certification as an Alcohol and other Drug Abuse Counselor in the state of Illinois. Clients that I have worked with struggled in areas of anxiety, depression, substance abuse related, post-traumatic stress disorders, trauma-based, attention deficit disorders, depression, and anxiety.
I was an activist long before I was a therapist, and I bridge these approaches in my work. Chicago parents, queers, spoonies, feminists, sex workers, polyfolx and weirdos of all stripes: I got you.
