I have worked in a variety of specialty settings, serving clients ages between 4 an 94, and there isn't too much I haven't seen. Your mental health is paramount to overall quality of life, and I am ready to help you get moving in the direction you want to go. We can use nature, music, art, and other experiences to design your unique path.
Hi! My name is Jessica. I am a Clinical Social Worker with a Masters degree from U of I (I.L.L.). My clinical experience began in 2004 as a therapist for a foster care program. The bulk of my experience is with children 3-17 who were in crisis; dealt with depression, anxiety and self esteem issues. I also have experience working with adults in the same capacity as well as dealing with relationships and aging. My personal goal is to always help people feel better.
I feel deeply honored to be a therapist, and consistently humbled by the resiliency I witness in my clients. I have been practicing for 10 years in diverse settings. I specialize in treating trauma and adverse experiences, and also anxiety and depression that may stem from these. I utilize two main types of therapy. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR. Both are empirically validated and considered to be effective treatment for a range of challenges.
My intention is to offer a non-judgmental space to talk through past and present feelings and situations that may be uncomfortable, painful, stressful or overwhelming. I most often work with those who feel stuck due to anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, ADHD, Autism, grief/loss or folks wanting to engage in identity exploration. Reaching out for and participating in therapy may seem daunting; however, part of my role is to help work through any uneasiness or apprehension.
