My interest in counseling grew from my own work recovering from childhood trauma, PTSD, and anxiety. I focus on mindfulness based counseling. Therapy can help you achieve a more fulfilling life and relationships. Therapy is a unique relationship, where you as a client can be completely open and honest. The most important factor in the success of therapy is your connection and relationship with your therapist.
My name is Beth, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C). I am licensed to practice in the states of Florida and Maryland. I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health, and I have over 30 years of experience working with families in a variety of settings.
My clinical background includes extensive experience working with underprivileged populations, victims of crime, and individuals coping with bereavement, grief, and loss. I have served as a school counselor for students from pre‐K through 12th grade, and I have supported college students navigating the challenges of major life transitions.
After completing my Master’s in Counseling from California State University, Sacramento, I co‐facilitated a children’s bereavement group with Hospice and led a suicide‐prevention program throughout inner‐city schools in Sacramento. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how individuals process adversity, build resilience, and find meaning in their healing journeys.
My therapeutic approach is humanistic and person‐centered, with an emphasis on play and art therapy. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution‐Focused techniques, and mindfulness‐based approaches to support clients in developing insight, strengthening coping skills, and fostering emotional well‐being.
My name is Kenya Barnhart. I was born and raised in North Carolina. I have many interests. I love anything involving the arts. I love reading, poetry, painting, and spending time with my family. I am married to my best friend, and we reside in West Palm Beach, Florida with our family
In my experience as someone who advocated for a family member, it was important in our search for a therapist to find someone who was experienced in techniques and interventions that would allow the client to reach their therapeutic goals. You may be wondering how I can help you therapeutically. In the quietness of your struggles have you ever wondered, why do you have challenges in regulating your mood, can you heal from past trauma, how can you get beyond the hopelessness you feel, and how can you adjust to life changes? If you are someone who has challenges with anxiety, Depression, Self-Esteem issues, Past Trauma, Family issues, Conflict/Divorce, Marriage/Couple issues, Adjustment Disorder, Relationship issues, Grief and Loss, Communication Skills, Behavioral skills, and Coping Skills; I may be a good fit for you.
