Hi, my name is Ariel Swannick, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I got into social work after going through my own childhood traumas, grief, depression and anxieties. I understand the anger and frustration, the fear of facing your past, and the uncertainty of moving forward. I have worked in the mental health system since 2011, and believe in client-centered therapy. I am here for you and to make the process as easy as possible.
We are all resilient, but might tend to keep emotions hidden to shield those we care about. In a therapy session, our heroic stories are told, communication in a relationship is reestablished, and appreciation becomes reciprocal. The conversations reflect hope for a kinder future; one where a sense of purpose is identified, trauma begins to heal, and our stories reveal endurance, well-being, and strength.
For 23 years, I have worked with couples, military families, transitions in adult life, caregivers, addiction, depression, and anxiety. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Hebrew and honor the values of our unique cultural backgrounds and the trust each client shares in his/her/their stories of survival, fighting spirit, and love.
As a therapist, I have a strong passion for working with pregnancy and the postpartum parent. This includes the whole perinatal period, birth, postpartum, infertility, and loss. In addition to those populations, I have over 12 years of experience working with specializations such as major life transitions, anxiety, adult adhd, depression, PTSD and complex trauma.
I hold a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from Colorado Christian University. I also have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Finding the right person to work with can make all the difference between a successful and unsuccessful therapy outcome.
Life evolves around us, and often we find ourselves entangled in unhealthy patterns of thinking, behavior and/or relationships. Therapy can help you understand and heal. I provide a safe place for my clients (age 18 and up_ to examine their past and uncover possibilities for their future. I use empathy, humor and directness to help you along your journey. I believe I can help you. Let's get started!
Perhaps you are struggling in some way... finding it difficult to cope with stress or anxieties, experiencing barriers to engaging with others, fighting with your own spiraling thoughts or emotions? If you are hopeful that you have the potential to change. If you are seeking to explore other perspectives and challenge limiting patterns of thoughts or behaviors. If the prospect of growth, healing, adapting is appealing.... Welcome to Possibilities Counseling & Consultation
Over 20 years ago, God put a desire in my heart to start MANNAFULL Counseling and Consulting. I wanted to see people restored and transformed from the impact of rejection, insecurity, low self-esteem, hurt, fear, and brokenness. I knew, personally, what it felt like to be in bondage to my own thoughts and the thoughts of others. However, when I became willing to do the work, face the truth and take steps forward, I experienced freedom, joy and peace.
If you’re going to invest this much time and energy, you want therapy that actually moves the needle—not just insight. I work with individuals and couples in a structured, emotionally focused way aimed at lasting change. I specialize in working professionals navigating career and financial stress, relationship/marital distress, infertility/IVF, LGBTQ+ clients, Asian/Asian American and immigrant communities, and first-gen professionals feeling stuck despite doing everything right. I’ve also developed expertise in resolving relational conflict, career curveballs, confidence slumps, and parenting challenges.
