Life can leave us carrying experiences that feel too heavy to hold alone. Whether you’re facing the impact of trauma, struggling in relationships, navigating grief and loss, managing anger, or working through challenges related to substance use, therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect, and begin again. The healing is not a "one-size-fits-all" process; my goal is to utilize an evidence-based intervention that you feel really "clicks" with how you view life and approach problem-solving. Common interventions I utilize include: EMDR, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-focused Brief Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
Being here for you during your most vulnerable moments is truly a gift to me. I feel honored to listen and hold space for you so that you can move through whatever is bothering you. My hope is to help you realize your full potential in a space of non-judgment, comfort and healing.
I earned my Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia. From there I started working with Veterans at the VA, which I have been doing for the past 15 years. I specialize in trauma informed care, strengths based therapy and solution oriented care.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina. I have experience working with borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, chronic illness, and life transitions. I use a blend of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and solution-focused techniques to support your specific needs; whether that’s managing emotional intensity, reducing self-destructive patterns, or finding stability.
Healing may not be linear, and may even be a little messy, but it is possible- I invite you to reach out when you’re ready to take that next step.
A defining part of my therapy work is that I provide highly-personalized psychotherapy services for each of my clients. With almost 7 years of experience, I have tailored my focus on trauma and complex trauma in adults. Whether we use EMDR or talk-therapy, it is my goal as a therapist to learn about your story, witness you in your present reality, and help you build a more hopeful future.
A dedicated clinical therapist/social worker with experience across various age groups. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, and a strengths-based approach, I empower clients to navigate challenges, build resilience, and achieve personal growth. Passionate about fostering a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment tailored to each individual's needs.
My ideal clients are thoughtful, anxious, highly-sensitive, tender-hearted, (and maybe a little weird) humans who have spent years navigating anxiety, identity, trauma, and the tangled gravity of family, culture, or religion. They come in feeling hypervigilant, burnt out, disconnected from their bodies, or unable to fully rest, even after building a life that fits better. You may be looking for ease, connection, and space to exist without bracing for impact. I offer a grounded, collaborative space to untangle the past, soften survival mode, and help you move toward sleep, ease, embodiment, and a life that feels more like home.
A little about me, your groovy new therapist:
I am originally from High Point, NC and studied English Language and Literature as well as Pedagogy and the Mind as an undergraduate at East Carolina University. I went on to work for East Carolina University full time while also completing my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. At the end of my graduate career, I studied abroad in Spain and Portugal and subsequently moved back to High Point, North Carolina. I now live in the Triad area practicing as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and National Certified Counselor. In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband, Shanon, our tortie cat, Sacred Jewel, and our silly weenie dog, Huckleberry. I like to draw, paint, collage, and write in journals. I also like philosophical books, comedy, unique cinema, spooky & self-help podcasts, crafting, and occasional gaming. I'm always down for a deep conversation about the universe, nostalgia, eclectic music, a good laugh, and some introspection. I can't wait to hear your story.
I view clients as whole people in the context of their lives. You are more than just a diagnosis. It's important to me to collaborate in setting goals, selecting an approach to therapy, and checking in along the way. I've worked with people from a broad range of backgrounds on anxiety, stress, relationships, life transitions, and LGBTQ+ issues.
