I’m a board-certified psychiatrist who values thoughtful, collaborative care. I was trained in both medicine and public health, which shapes how I think about mental health in the context of a person’s life, relationships, work, culture, and stressors. I work with adults across a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, ADHD, and life transitions. My goal is to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and not rushed.
I was born and raised in Montana and have a genuine passion for nature and the outdoors. I received my Bachelors in Psychology at Montana State University in 2001. I then pursued my Masters of Social Work degree and graduated in 2008 from the University of Montana. This graduate program had a focus on providing a social justice and integrated practitioner perspective. I have an eclectic style that can be tailored to each unique individual. My primary therapeutic methods include Mindfulness Based, Holistic, Exposure, Narrative, Cognitive and Behavioral, Strengths Based & Solution Focused Therapies. I provide a non-judgmental and compassionate environment that often helps people feel comfortable. A true passion of mine is structuring therapeutic activities for clients to express, process, increase self-awareness, and de-stress from life’s challenging and developmental experiences.
My path to becoming a psychologist was a combination of my personal experience, academic exploration, and professional development. In high school, I experienced the death of a close relative. During this time the school psychologist served as a pillar to ensure that I was receiving psychotherapy to cope with my loss. This experience sparked my interest in the mental health needs of individuals. After college, I went on to pursue a graduate program in psychology where I deepened my knowledge of different therapeutic approaches and clinical work. Along the way, I had hands-on experience through internships and supervised training, which helped me refine my skills and understand the real-world applications of what I had learned.
Welcome! As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York state, I have been dedicated to helping adult clients find practical solutions and achieve positive change since 2011. My practice is highly solutions-focused, primarily using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for brief therapy, meaning we will build skills and resolve issues without the expectation of long-term counseling. I specialize in helping adults navigate common challenges like anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. I also provide specialized expertise in executive coaching and managing professional concerns, including job stress and burnout
I am a New York State licensed psychotherapist and board-certified creative arts therapist helping people with anxiety, OCD, depression, and stress at work or home. I am a big believer in the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client. I provide emotional support and a safe environment and aim to work with empathy and warmth to help generate new perspectives, aim at a sense of wholeness, and restore balance and hope. I also encourage my clients to think deeply about their lives and to take actions to create the change they want to see.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy to alleviate symptoms and a psychodynamic approach to explore attachments and relationships. I am also licensed to use non-verbal forms of exploration such as art therapy and have an interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have been practicing for 10 years.
