I’m a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner with extensive experience leading and providing care in community-based mental health programs. I’ve spent many years working with adults and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, work and family stress, and major life transitions.
As both a clinician and a leader, I value creating spaces where people feel seen, respected, and understood, especially those who may have felt overlooked in other systems. I’m particularly passionate about supporting women, professionals in helping roles, caregivers, and people of color who are balancing many responsibilities.
Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and straightforward. I’ll bring clinical expertise, honesty, and compassion to our work together so you don’t have to go through this season of your life alone.
"With over 20 years of experience as both a licensed LMFT and LMHC in New York, I offer a unique, dual-lens perspective on mental health and systemic family dynamics. I believe that true healing happens when clinical competence meets genuine human warmth. Throughout my two decades of practice, I have remained dedicated to providing evidence-based, compassionate care that helps clients thrive in their personal lives and their relationships. I am here to help you navigate your journey with the professional insight and personal support you need to move forward."
I specialize in working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, interpersonal relationship challenges, and difficulties with assertiveness.
I graduated from Fordham University in 2009 and began applying my new skills in trauma- and addiction-focused positions across clinics and hospitals in NYC. I continued working in crisis response services upon moving to Rochester, NY and in 2020 I became interested in sex therapy and integrative sex and couples therapy. I studied to obtain my Certification in Sex Therapy from the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists. My work focuses on a number of sexual health and mental health issues, including desire discrepancies, physical concerns that limit one's ability to enjoy preferred sexual activities, erotic recovery after infidelity and/or trauma, establishment of monogamy agreements, kink-affirming care and assistance to co-create polyamorous relationship agreements.
I’m Rachel Schimmel, a licensed clinical social worker with 15+ years of experience specializing in anxiety and couples therapy. I work with individuals and partners who feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns, or disconnected from themselves or each other. My approach is focused on helping you understand what’s really going on beneath the anxiety, frustration, or resentment.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 19 years of experience, I provide culturally sensitive care to those navigating depression, anxiety, life transitions, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
As a bilingual psychotherapist having worked with a wide range of demographics and populations over the years, i have learned providing a nonjudgemental and warm space is the foundation of effective therapy. Whether this is your first time in therapy or returning back, we will work together in achieving your goals by tailoring the tools specifically to your needs.
Entering therapy can be intimidating, and that's why I always try to meet people where they are in their process of healing, growth, and change. I'm Bethany, a licensed therapist who helps individuals navigate anxiety, stress, and life transitions with compassion and clarity. My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based techniques.
I have spent the last ten years applying my clinical knowledge and love of helping to ensure a safe space that addresses the unique needs of my clients. I have significant experience working with teens, adults, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Together, we'll explore patterns, build coping tools, and strengthen your connection to yourself and others.
Whether you're feeling stuck or simply seeking balance, I'll meet you where you are and help you move toward the life you want to life. Self-discovery, growth, and healing should be a beautiful journey, as your therapist, I hope to be the vehicle guiding you.
I know reaching out can feel hard, especially when you’re already dealing with a lot. You don’t need to have everything figured out—that’s what this space is for.
If this resonates, I’d be glad to connect whenever you feel ready.
