I believe that therapy can be an essential tool used to maintain a well-balanced, healthy, and fulfilling life. As a therapist, I find it important to create a safe and friendly environment. I strive to always be in tune with what you need and assist you in exploring whatever difficulty you may be experiencing.
I have worked in the field since 2009 and have experience in inpatient psychiatric social work as well as individual and family counseling. Over the past couple of years I have focused my continuing education on trauma-informed care, including EMDR and specifically attachment and somatic based approaches. I am most experienced working with adolescent, adult, and older adult populations.
My name is Elizabeth (or Liz) and I am looking forward to meeting with you. I was born and raised in New York, growing up in Queens and Long Island and living for several years in the Hudson Valley. I went to college at SUNY New Paltz (upstate New York) and graduate school at Columbia University (New York City). Just like my experiences growing up and living in the city, countryside and suburban towns, I have a lot of experience working with both adults and children ranging from traumatic experiences, to challenging decisions. I have worked in community, inpatient, outpatient and hospital settings.
Hola, Welcome! My name is Monique and I’m a bilingual mental health counselor with over seven years of experience supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and emotions. Over the years, I’ve worked with children, adolescents, adults, caregivers, and professionals navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, depression, life transitions, and burnout. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in negative thinking patterns, or struggling with stress in relationships, work, or major life changes. I help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so they can develop practical tools to manage stress, build healthier boundaries, and feel more in control of their lives. I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. I provide a warm, collaborative space where clients can explore stress, transitions, relationships, and personal growth in a way that feels both practical and empowering. My goal is to help you build clarity, resilience, and confidence as you create a life that feels balanced and aligned with who you are.
My clients should know that I am reliable, easy to work with, detail-oriented, and dedicated to delivering high-quality results. I value honesty, clear communication, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing understanding their goals to ensure the outcome aligns with their needs. I always strive to make clients feel supported and confident throughout the process.
